Beholden Synopsis
As the people of Galena go about their lives, there is a menace lurking in their town. People are vanishing, leaving families in chaos. Who or what is terrorizing the community? The townspeople are looking for answers and demanding action. Is simple faith enough to combat this darkness that has enveloped the city? Is a police force enough to put an end to the madness?
For the members of the multicultural Wisdom Outreach Center it is business, as usual. They have families, careers and ambitions. They, also, have secrets. Their inner battles and private longings bind them together in ways that are hidden from them all. As people begin to disappear, a terror is created throughout the community that is growing out of control. Pastor Zeke Montgomery and Chief Gavin Palmer and the police squad are under scrutiny as the people of Galena are looking for answers about the evil that lurks in the shadows.
As the citizens of Galena search themselves, they begin to wonder if they are prepared to meet their maker. There are families that begin to ponder if the missing members are finally being made to atone for their sins. Introspection creates thoughts of what would be done if they had a second chance. All the while, fear is gripping their hearts with each missing person and passing day. Are the acts the work of a lone assailant or something more sinister?
Inez Reilly takes you on a journey inside the lives of people who represent us all – people with hopes, dreams, good intentions, regrets, nightmares and ill meaning. As with all of Ms. Reilly’s fiction works, there are guaranteed thrills and surprises. You will be on the edge of your seat, guessing and having to guess again, as you try to solve the mysteries behind the disappearances.

More Covenant Reviews
Preston and his best friend Micah are single, established African American males. Preston is the Vice President of litigation and Micah is the newly appointed CFO at Brookes & Brooks. They've known each other since their first year of college at James Madison University and have remained best friends ever since. They each made a vow to treat their bodies as a temple, abstaining from drugs and premarital sex.
Preston has achieved his goals. He now feels it's time to secure the final steps, as the bible says - his good thing. He's ready for a bride. He is looking for someone that will possess the qualities of his mother.
Micah already has his good thing in Ariel. He loves her very much and now with this promotion, he can ask her to be his bride.
A surprise night out leads to jealousy, envy, betrayal, uncertainty and quite possibly destruction in everyone's lives.
Inez Reilly's "Covenant" is a good, quick read. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

Covenant Reviews
"I am a young person and I see so many "relationships" crashing and burning. I was beginning to think that the media (written or otherwise) had nothing good to say about real love and commitment. When I read Covenant, I was happy to see adults setting good examples about waiting for Mr/Mrs Right. I was even more excited to see christian relationships with fire and passion -- seeing friends and families sticking together and supporting one another. Covenant is a shining example of what "could be" if we just take the time to "make it be." You have to read this book and get inspired! It is not all fluff ... the characters make mistakes, learn from them and move on with the loving support of those around them. Seriously, get this book!" - by: S. Anise, Poet
"Inez Reilly has written a story in Covenant, which is a mature read and will captivate you from the beginning. We follow the lives of best friends, Micah and Preston, who are both professional men and very successful. While in college they made a pact with one another to abstain from premarital sex, drugs, and anything else that will bring harm to their bodies.
Reilly writes in a style that allows us to see the story develop from various points of views and it makes you feel as if you are in the pages of the book. From the outside looking in, both Micah and Preston seem perfect but they are both indeed flawed and throughout this book we get see the secrets unravel, and where insecurity, jealousy, and envy can take us and the ties that bind us to one another.
Covenant was a quick, enjoyable read and it is my hope that a sequel will be released soon." - by: Tiffany Craig
